My primary research interest includes the study of the intersection of structural violence and state security and problematising the state's interest vis-à-vis its internal security. Other broad areas of interest include science communication, Conflict Studies, sociology of religion, history of alcohol in the Middle East (pre-and post-Islam), and Film Studies with a focus on the use of cinema as a tool to instil a sense of nationalism. I am currently doing my doctoral coursework.
